In the story The Most Dangerous Game, written by Richard Connel, a hunter finds himself on an isolated island being hunted by a narcissistic and aristocratic Cossack. In the movie High Noon, by Carl Foreman, the newly wed marshal of a small western town has to face a convict charged with murder when he is released from prison. Throughout The Most Dangerous Game and High Noon, the theme and setting help convey the story in similar ways, but the differences of personality and opinion in Rainsford and Kane take them down separate paths. During High Noon, Will Kane has to decide whether or not he should kill Frank, just like Rainsford has to decide whether to leave the island or kill General Zaroff. "
For instance, in both The Most Dangerous Game story and the motion picture version, the similitude between characters can be very easily recognized. For example, Zaroff and and Rainsford are both experience hunters. This helps urge on the chase, because they are both experienced, Zaroff finds that the hunt will be even more exciting than any other one before. With both of their brains against each other it would make a exhilarating hunt. Also, in both of the versions of The Most Dangerous Game, Rainsford is a famous hunter.
High Noon, which was written by Carl Foreman, is a film about a marshal who has to protect his town and himself from a man who is returning from prison on the noon train for revenge with the help of his gang. “The Most Dangerous Game,” which was written by Richard Connell, is a short story about a man who ends up on an island known as ‘Ship Trap Island’ and has to survive from an expert hunter for three days by hiding from the hunter, his dogs, and his accomplice. Even though High Noon and “The Most Dangerous Game” are stories that have little in common, there are instances where we see similarities between the two settings; the protagonists and conflicts also have many differences. The film, High Noon, and the short story, “The Most Dangerous Game,” have two different conflicts that affect the story.
Rainsford swims to the island after falling off the yacht. He arrives at a small island called "Ship-Trap Island.”. On the mysterious Caribbean island, he finds a house owned by a hunter named Zaroff. Rainsford and Zaroff are both hunters but Zaroff is a world famous hunter. However, Zaroff hunts a different animal which can fight back “humans”.
Have you ever considered how the hunted feel? The short stories The Interlopers and The Most Dangerous Game have many similarities throughout them. In The Interlopers these two families have been feuding for generations. Then when to two current men of the houses come face to face things take a very different turn they end up overcoming their differences. In the end they both die though.
Without literary devices, the stories you read would be dull and uneventful. This is why Richard Connell effectively uses similes and imagery in “The Most Dangerous Game” to help give it life. In this story, Connell used similes to give the reader a feeling of how things looked or felt. On page 19 the author wrote “...but it was like trying to see through a blanket” (Connell).
Film, "High Noon" and story, "The Most Dangerous Game", have a lot of similarities in characters and theme but very different in setting. In the story "The Most Dangerous Game" a sailor name Rainsford gets trapped on an isolated island and he has to survive there for three days. In the film "High Noon" a retired officer name Will had to go back to his job to save his town from four criminals that were coming back to get revenge. Even though both film and story are different they also have a lot of similarities in characters and theme. Referring to the theme of our story and the film, they are very similar.
The stories are very alike in many ways and also have their differences. First and foremost, the patterns of the story are rather distant. In High Noon, Will Kane is repeatedly turned down for help. "This is just plain committing suicide, that's what it is! And for what?

These conflicts differ from each other in the way that in High Noon, Will Kane had the problem of not being able to find help, deputies. In The Most Dangerous Game Rainsford doesn't need and help, nor could he get any as he was completely isolated. I believe that this added conflict to High Noon add an important theme that makes you think, which I think was great work by Carl Foreman. Even though both conflicts can be seen as infinitely different, they both example unquestionably good conflicts that make these stories better than most
Both Hpgh Noon and "The Most Dangerous Game" have contrasting themes. High noon is about the old west and the main character is Will Kane. Kane has to face his enemies without anyone by his side. The most dangerous game is about the Sanger Rainsford, in the Amazon Jungle. Rainsford is abandoned on "ship trap island.
High Noon and "The Most Dangerous Games" are great stories with very interesting plots. Kane and Rainsford are the main characters of these stories, and they are very different but alike at the same time. Both Kane and Rainsford fight alone against their opponent with no one their to help them. Kane was not always alone until he turned in his tin star and said goodbye to being a sheriff so he could be with his wife who was a Quaker.

Comparing and Contrasting: ‘The Most Dangerous Game’ The short story and film version of The Most Dangerous Game contain both similarities and differences. There are always going to be changes form book to movie no matter what. The plot of both of these is the same though; A man is lost on an island and meets General Zaroff. The man is very fortunate at the time because General Zaroff is welcoming.
Hunters believe animals are not capable of reasoning and they see them as something lesser than humans. Throughout time, these positions can change. The short story, “The Most Dangerous Game” written by Richard Connell, consists of General Zaroff being the hunter and Rainsford being the hunted. During the story, their positions change to the complete opposite.
