The Warnings Many people can compare two books and find similar meanings and lessons especially in the books The Wave by Todd Strasser and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Actually by taking the look at each of the covers you find similarities even there. On both covers it clearly shows what this book would intel but one does not know that until they’ve read the two books before hand. From examining the cover of The Wave and attempting to interpret it. You can see right away that it gives off a stoic feel which is perfect for the theme of the book. As for Fahrenheit 451’s cover it as well gives insight into the book but seemed that one would have to read into the images a bit more. Looking at the cover one can only speculate what the text holds. Just like the saying, “Never judge a book by it’s binding.” -Edwin Rolfe. So in the next few paragraphs we will be focusing on the text of the books and the warning each of them give us. Starting of course with Fahrenheit 451. In Fahrenheit 451 many of the people are seemingly brainwashed by their electronics and gadgets. They are secluded into their homes and rarely ever associate with other humans. In fact the author skillful demonstrated this in creating the wall screens. They are basically just wall length a width televisions and in these wall screens are programs. Popular in the book the screens had a program which were known to the viewers as their “family”. It seemed to be a virtual family for the people in this book. The author was warning us that the electronics take over our lives and leave out human contact and communication. Which is not far off at all in fact for some people it is spot on. Another warning Fahrenheit 451 gives us is the scenario in the book where the leaders are taking control of the citizens by taking knowledge and replacing it with amusement and fear. They use this to monopolize their people and those select few who realise that they are others are being used are ridiculed and suddenly
