Stereotypes and misconceptions have been apart of our society for the longest period of time. They are used everyday in life. Even though some of them are true, they can still be taken to offense. Misconceptions are what form stereotypes. They are often misleading and are based on bias opinions. Due to the lack of knowledge society has, they often judge a person or group before they get to know them. This is where the misconceptions and stereotypes tend to begin. As society’s perspective on different groups formed, single women face many misconceptions and stereotypes in everyday life.

Due to their caring nature and background history, women are seen as weak and fragile individuals. Oftentimes, society tends to believe they need a partner or someone to care for. Because of this, they recieve all types of stereotypes and misconception that make the sound desperate, overly obsessive and needy. Through stereotypes and misconception, there are partial truths to these accusations. Some things that many can agree is that women have alway held a more emotional and caring side, whereas, males tend to not reach the same level of affection. In a recent interview, Diaz, Vanessa a Mountain Mikes cashier states. “I don't like being bossed around in a relationship, I also view dating as running for marriage. Ummm as a 21 year old woman I don't feel like i'm ready for such a commitment. Like, it's very hard for a woman at this age to be stable. I feel like women in general are judged more than anything if you think about it. Let’s say I get married and have kids-- I'd be a horrible mother to go back to work. Or if i stay at home, I’d be a bad wife because i'm not helping support financially... Either way you get judged no matter what the choice
