Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, a poem with an effect that elevates the image of knights as warriors and nobles and does not diminish it. Throughout the poem I did not see any context that triggered me to imagine or think of any kind of scorning towards that of a brave and experienced soldier nor a nobleman. For example, “Gawain, with the weapon, walked towards the warrior, and they stood face to face, not one man afraid. Before we compete, repeat what we've promised. And start by saying your name to me, sir , and tell me truth so I can take it on trust¨ (375-382). The words from the poem are from no fool nor do they come from any small situation. It is obvious that there is a confrontation happening, but the confrontation is not between scoundrels
