Slavery was an issue that was never addressed and needed to be. It was a huge, controversial subject in the past, affecting the blacks, as well as the people of the North and South due to their strong beliefs and difference in opinion. Slavery was unfair. People were treated poorly and suffered for the southerners who believed they were better than African Americans. Though, we are all equal. The majority of people didn’t see the world that way back then. It had a horrible effect on slaves. Southerners were perceived as better than anyone else, so they had the power, back then, to treat others with disrespect and physical harm. The Northerners saw this as cruel treatment and decided to act on it.
The people of the North had a huge impact on the slave’s lives, which determined life from then on. These harmful actions caused trauma; and not only slaves to suffer, but the North as well, for voicing their opinion. People in North

Abolitionists Elizabeth Candy Stanton and Lucretia Mott took it upon themselves to fight for African American’s rights. Women didn’t have as much of a say as men so many had to step up to make a difference. Two women in particular felt they had a voice that needed to be heard.
