To my dearest cousin that I love so much, I believe that you shouldn’t travel here and settle down. The life over here is good, but not as much as people lead it to be. We are still settling down and there is a lot of oppression and injustice. Slavery is still prevalent even though so many slaves tried to escape during the war and gain their freedom. Many women fought for women’s rights and they also had to participate in the war, they were required to be camp followers and had to do task that would have normally required the presence of support troops (Yazawa, 2011).
