We are stuck in a stable distance from each other, magnets connected by the stream of my words. I start my story in the middle and move in both directions. I tell her unimportant things, memories of little events that happened to me, clothes Mom wears and Dad’s funny mailman adventures. I tell her Aunt Ida’s favorite programs and I tell her about Father Tom and the yellow raft. I tell her, yes, Seattle, but the reservation too, and Mom somewhere with a man named Dayton and all her pills from Charlene.
Foreshadowing in the legend of sleepy hallow. Foreshadowing is when the author gives you clues in the story to tell you what is going to happen next. Every story or movie out there has foreshadowing in it, like for example this movie that I watched when I was a kid. There was these two boys and whenever something bad would happen an owl in the background would hoot three times. So that is kind of foreshadowing.
First way that Mr.Washigton used foreshadowing in the story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” which was when Brom was telling a story about the headless horse man. Brom knew that Ichabod was scared when he told the story, Brom obviously did this to scare him and to get him away from Katrina because they both like her. Brom was the jock in the story, He was the kid who was good at sports, riding horses, and as well as throwing things that are heavy. Ichabod is a school teacher in this story. He felt like every girl liked him.
Journal entry #8 I went out for supplies today with Vicky. As I was climbing into the house that I knew was going to be vacant a boy named Eric pulled me in. I nearly had a heart attack over it. He is a part of the Resistant so I am forced to be nice to him, even though he stole my scarf from my neck and then acted like I was a monster after he realized who I was. I hate that he did that
Dear diary, this past year has been the worst year of my life on our small farm in Iowa. My wife Jane had a miscarriage when she only had 4 months left with our soon to be 4th child then she got really sick and then that made my 3 year old daughter Roberta sick too and she died as well. So i 've been thinking that moving away from everything that 's happened, is the best choice for me and my two sons jeffrey and andrew. We will stop at independence missouri first, then through kansas, nebraska, wyoming, idaho, and then we will reach our new life in oregon.
Dr. Meyers, Hello! I hope your Thanksgiving was rejuvenating and enjoyable with family and friends. This is Angelia (Angel) Hirsch from the summer practicum course through Liberty University. I am not certain what happened over the week of Thanksgiving, but our house (which is a 125 year-old historical home, really a niche market, not many want to deal with the special things that come along with the age and up keep) suddenly went into high demand and we had numerous offers come in on Wednesday!
Shannon’ s favorite place that she has ever vacationed was Highlands, North Carolina. This was her favorite vacation because of the people she was with. This trip was memorable because she drives a convertible and in order to get to the cabin she had to drive on dirt roads, so she had dirt on car the entire trip. This trip was also memorable because she slept on a swinging bed outside of the cabin. Some unusual things that we have in common are that we lived within 5 miles of each other, we both have the same Meyers Briggs personality type which is INFJ, we both have a past in American Sign Language, we both grew up with horses, and we both want to hike the Appalachian Trail in its

The film the breakfast club portrays Andrew Clark and Alison Reynolds as two characters that are polar opposites. Their styles differentiate as Alison wears dark and baggy clothes, to express emotions of mystery and evil. Whereas in comparison, Andrew wears bright colours and walks in a tall fashion. however, on the inside what he wears does not portray his true personality. The way both the characters’ dress does not correlate with their personalities, but a duologue between them towards the end of the film draws their personalities together, thus creating a point in which the audience can truly understand the similarities between the two, furthermore creating dramatic affect.
She was not much older than myself, only taller and maybe prettier. For why the towns people think of her as a witch I may never know. With a fresh pan of bread in my between my oven mitts I hear John's abrupt entrance, almost knocking

Tyler Mcilwain Reading response 2/15 "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" In this piece, Irving's sarcasm is quite present throughout the story. He uses Ichabod's character to signify greed. Even though he seems to be lacking aesthetically, he wants it all and is willing to do anything to get it. Katrina is also quite greedy when it comes to winning over her male counterparts.
“A drowsy, dreamy influence seems to hang over the land, and to pervade the very atmosphere. Some say that the place was bewitched by a high German doctor, during the early days of the settlement; others, that an old Indian chief, the prophet or wizard of his tribe, held his powwows there before the country was discovered by Master Hendrick Hudson.” Washington Irving wrote The Legend of Sleepy Hollow in 1820. It is about a teacher, Ichabod Crane, who is chased away by the headless horseman.
At the time that Prince Albert’s speech was reaching the London people, Victorian England was already forming. England was becoming remodeled in numerous ways, starting with the fact that there was a new ruler on the English throne, Queen Victoria (Albert’s wife). Prince Albert addresses these changes in his speech at the Great London Exhibition of Art and Industry, focusing the most on this idea of “the realization of the unity of mankind”(Prince Albert, 1851). The realization of the unity of mankind is in essence the fact that Prince Albert felt that at this time, more than any other time in European History, the European people are joining together and both ignoring and embracing differences between them, becoming united or “as one”. He describes it in such a way here; “not a unity which
I grew up in Wellston, Ohio and lived in the countryside about fifteen minutes from town. My house was a home to me and it wasn 't the greatest, but it was special to me. My big backyard consisted of many fruit trees and a grape vine, it was where I had bonfires with my family and friends, and it was where I ran free with my brother. I had a pond, “over the hill” as my brother and I would say, where we swam and fished in the summertime and sat on the deck feeding bread to the bluegill as we had conversations about life. Behind our pond was where thousands of trees stood tall and where we roamed every inch of the hidden land.
