Foreshadowing in the legend of sleepy hallow. Foreshadowing is when the author gives you clues in the story to tell you what is going to happen next. Every story or movie out there has foreshadowing in it, like for example this movie that I watched when I was a kid. There was these two boys and whenever something bad would happen an owl in the background would hoot three times. So that is kind of foreshadowing. For example he creeps on girls all the time and in the story it said that he walks little kids home than tells them to say to their older sister that he walked them home and that he is a really good guy. Also Ichabod thinks that he is top dog in this little town they live in. When in a reality it is probably Brunt but Ichabod people like him because it is more of a pity like. For example when Katrina was dancing with him all night honestly who would like Ichabod in that sort of way, literally nobody would. Brunt is a strong athletic guy so he is going to win over the girl, also Brunt is liked more than Ichabod anyways in the town. Also if Ichabod would have married Katrina that would have been weird since a guy usually is not a trophy husband, which is kind of wrong there should just be trophy wives also Brunt would have taken better care of Katrina anyways. For example if someone were to break into the house and Ichabod was there he would not be able to do anything he probably can’t even pick up the sword. But if Brunt was there the man who would have tried to break in would not even think about
