People have made many things through out the centuries. Some have done more important things than others. People might say that any government is bad because they don't do anything but they are wrong. The United States is a very strong country because of its economy and different kinds of culture. For this report the United States is divided into the Northeast, Midwest, West, and the South.

This led to the American Revolution and the founding of the United States of America. In 1803, the United States nearly doubled in size when the government bought the vast plains between the Mississippi and the Rocky Mountains from the French. This land was known as the Louisiana purchase. Some years later Europeans started to settle in the northeast of North America where industrialization was beginning. When even more people started to settle in North America, their different culture, religion and so many more differences caused problems which led to political and economic tensions. This caused the Civil War. To make space for white settlers, the United States government vacated Native Americans from their lands by treaty or by force. Thanks to railroads and trains, people were transported faster. In the time the West was being settled lots of immigrants from Europe came to United States. New York, Boston, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Detroit, and Chicago expanded rapidly. In the 20th Century the United States changed a lot. Lots of raw materials are found in Pennsylvania. The Midwest is also known as the American Heartland because it occupies one-fifth of the nation's land and one-fourth of the people live there. It has extraordinary features and numerous waterways such as the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River. The Midwest is known as the bread basket because it grows the majority of wheat in the United States which can produce large amounts of bread. The Midwest produces large amounts of foods because of its good weather and of its fertile soil. The south is made of 16 states. Some of the black people are descendants of the Africans brought to work as slaves. Agriculture was the first economic activity of the South. With the invention of air conditioners in the 50s many industries have move to the South and the cities are growing. The South is a very popular area for people to retire because of its climate.
