On monday October 19, a Milwaukee Bucks basketball Player, John Henson, was harassed by police officers and was not allowed in The Whitefish Bay jewelery store in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He posted about it on instagram causing a frenzy on social media. When he went up to the door of the jewelry store they had locked the door and ran to the back of the store, not letting him in. Henson explains how the employees had police officers come and interrogate him about the car he was driving and why he was here. Hensons explained, "This was one of the the most degrading and racially prejudiced things I've ever experienced in life and wouldn't wish this on anyone,".

In the police report, the employees explain how they had a security scare and closed the store early that Friday because of multiple calls about a certain watch and the store hours. Thinking that there was going to be a robbery at their store. Also, days before, a different jewelery store had been robbed which made the employees on edge and nervous.
Yes, this article addresses the social inequality issue. They explain how the basketball player hopes this raises awareness and hopes this brings racial inequality to light in the Milwaukee community calling it a “surreal moment”. The owner of the jewelry store said that athlete or not that no one deserves to be treated this way explaining that every individual deserves respect no matter what and he greatly apologized.
What stunned me the most about this article was the way the employees ran to the back of the store to hide. He clearly came up to the door in a non aggressive manner. He was casually looking for a watch and the only reason they were hiding was because of the color of his skin. The article never explains that the robbery from the other store or the color of the robbers skin. This was clearly out of racial profiling and it astonishes me that this is what our society has come
