Every person has a social location. Social location defines your position and place in society depending on the category’s factors and attributes like sex, religion, age, ability, sexual orientation, employment, and gender these aspects define what group you belong to in the community. Social location has a great impact on someone’s life it is something we can not change it is who we are our race, sex, and religion. You learn and understand how people act and live the way they do. (Writer 2020, p1-2) Some people face oppression due to certain aspects within their social location, and some people more than others and some don’t face oppression at all. There are different types of sexism that we women face each day, and they all have there disadvantages. Hostile sexism is defined as considering men to be dominant over women and punishing women for ignoring traditional gender roles. Benevolent sexism is another type of sexism that oppresses us women, it is the desire to protect women due to a belief that women are inherently weaker, more sensitive, or more innocent than men (Strong, 2022, para.3). I and many other women have personally experienced Hostile sexism and live it every day. My husband is very old school and expects me to play the traditional women's role, which is cooking cleaning, and taking care of the kids. However, I feel currently there is no longer a role for men and women to play we are a team and work together. Both men and women must work nowadays to keep afloat with all the bills, prices, and interest rates rising. Moreover, this oppresses women because it puts more on our plates and leaves no time for ourselves. Another way, women are oppressed by sexism is when a woman is confident and voices her opinion it is looked at as being domineering or aggressive (Writer, 2002, Para. 2). As a woman, you get stereotyped very easily, people will judge you based on how you look and act as a woman because we are not supposed to be loud and
