Society is one of the main reasons why many people do what do and are like they are. Romeo and Juliet were pushed to their death by society. Both Romeo and Juliet were deeply in love, but their families didn’t like each other, Juliet was being pressured to marry Paris, and Romeo got kicked out of Verona after fighting. Society can be very dangerous and bring many problems. In some cases society can get as bad as causing people to kill themselves. This was the case for Romeo and Juliet, society was against their relationship which got them under pressure, causing them to kill themselves. Romeo got in a big fight with Tybalt, which resulted in Tybalt’s death. “What storm is this that blows so contrary? Is Romeo slaughtered, and is Tybalt dead? My dear loved cousin, and my dearer lord? Then dreadful trumpet, sound the general doom! For who is living, if those two are gone?” stated Juliet in original play. This shows how Juliet was having suicidal thoughts. Romeo getting kicked out of Verona, and killing Tybalt affected many things with Juliet. According to Suicide.org, suicide can be caused by separation of a relationship, feeling “trapped’ in a situation perceived as negative, and a feeling of not being accepted by society. This is everything Romeo and Juliet felt, they felt as if society would never accept them, and felt trapped, and were separated from each other many times. Due to the kicking of Romeo, Juliet couldn’t explain the plan to him so she decided to send him a letter which then led up to major problems. “What’s here? A cup of my true love’s hand? Poison, I see, hath been his timeless end: oh churl! Drunk all! And left no friendly drop to help me after? I will kiss thy lips; Haply some poison yet doth hang on them to make die with a restorative.” Stated Juliet in original play. This statement shows how Romeo getting kicked out of Verona affected them both. This shows how society pushed Romeo and Juliet to their poor death. Suicide is extremely dangerous it can take many lives from people not mattering
