Sociologist should not have a responsibility to take sides because it is a personal matter of emotion and judgment. The stance one takes in social problems are beliefs devised by the person’s social location, age, ethnicity, and other factors. It does not mean the person judgment is incorrect because it not the same as yours. Emotions keep sociologist from achieving well thought out work. A sociologist job is to report their findings not pass judgment and let feelings affect the results of research.
