Comparing and Contrasting the Books The Red Badge of Courage and Soldier’s Heart
Soldier’s Heart and The Red Badge of Courage has so many similarities and differences they just keep piling up. There are more similarities than differences in the two books. It will be hard to find a lot of differences in the two books. When reading the two novels and comparing and contrasting irony there are more similarities than differences. Contrasting the books one will realize that there are only few differences in the books.
Like for example in the book Soldier’s Heart the book was written in third person limited point of view. At the beginning of the story Charley the main character was very excited about the war. But in Red Badge of Courage the book …show more content…

Like for example, both Henry and Charley both realize the reality of their decision. Both of them thought they would like to go to war and fight, then realized that they were wrong. Charley and Henry both watched a close friend of theirs die. Both of their friends got killed during battle. Also Henry and Charley both fought during the Civil War. Both them were involved with the Union. So they fought for the same side. Charley went through major changes as did Henry. Henry’s change was more for better than Charley’s. Henry at first wanted to run away, then realized that he needed to fight, and got better. As for Charley he realized that going into the war was a bad idea and he kind of went crazy and didn’t do well after the war. Both of the men also went through patriotic fever. One reading these two books will see how fascinating these similarities are and how many there are. While reading the two books comparing and contrasting one will realize that there are less differences than similarities. When contrasting the two books, one realizes that there are only a few differences, which is interesting. After reading both of the books one will see that there are a lot more similarities than differences. One reading will see how interesting it is to see the amount of
