Why did you select this song
I choose the song because nowadays a lot of music is about love and relationships, and you would not normally here in recent artist publishing such a song. The majority of the songs I found were not by as well know people and we're not as relatable for it. Even though Michael Jackson has passed, I feel he is more well known and it is good to see that modern people still care. I also think that this song demonstrates that the earth was a promised land and how we deserve nothing but were given our world as a gift. It says how we are destroying the earth pledged to his only son. I also interpreted this to me linked to the past and future generation and mankind as a whole.

It continues to say ‘What have we done’ and I feel like it is important for everyone, not just Christians to be aware of the consequences of our actions. The song mentions that our earth is seen as a promised land and as Christians we believe that everything given to us are gifts and we have to look after these gifts so others in the future can experience these gifts for themselves. It is purely selfish to take what is rightfully not yours and this world as we believe is not just ours.
