Sonny’s Blue by James Baldwin took place back in the 1950’s in the city Harlem, where blacks' lives were actually tough. There is two main characters of the story, Sonny is a troubled young man who becomes addicted to heroin at an early age in his life and also the narrator’s little brother. The narrator has an unknown name, but he is a successful working math teacher and raising a family with all the chaos around him. In Africa there’s about 17 million kids not in schooling, and the ones in school learn so little while in they are in school because the education system isn’t great.
