Since Justin Trudeau came into power as the Prime Minister(PM), his wife, Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau has attracted public attention. According to Toronto Sun, “[G]regoire- Trudeau certainly hasn’t avoided the limelight since her husband was swept into power last October, posing with him in a romantic Vogue photo-shoot, modeling Canadian-designed fashions, and even crooning her own composition at an event.” (Freeman, 2016). It means that she is narcissistic, and consequently, she exceeds the bounds; she publicly raised her need for more staff to deal with her engagements in an interview with Le Soleil, a Quebec City newspaper. I insist that Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau should not have more staff. Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau overlooks Canadian financial …show more content…

While some people claim that Gregoire-Trudeau has handled social causes since 2005 and she was not a PM’s wife at that time, I believe that the social causes were handled by just a TV broadcaster who wanted to show off. According to The Huffington Post Canada, Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau is an activist, TV personality and yoga practitioner, among other things (Ferreras, 2015). And now, she is a PM’s wife. She is Mila Mulroney, the wife of the previous PM Brian Mulroney. According to Toronto Sun, “[S]he was a notorious fashionista and consummate spender, which led her to being dubbed Imelda, in honor of the Philippines’ Imelda Marcos and her love shoes. Her prime minister husband once opined that if Mila ever had her credit card stolen, he wouldn’t report it to police because the thief would probably spend less on it than Mila” (Freeman, 2016). It implies that Mila Mulroney is not a suitable and ideal PM’s wife role model for Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau. Moreover, Gregoire-Trudeau does not have a formal position such as “First Lady”; consequently, it is ridiculous for a person who does not have official duties to have several staff and her own office. Just because Mila Mulroney had three staff, does not mean we need to repeat the same mistake for a person who does not hold an official
