“Prelude to a Revolution,” by Traci Brimhall is a short poem about a group of men currently in prison. They pass around items that will ease their nerves. They talk about rumors of a revolution, and other rumors of the city. They have spent a lot of time in prison and some of them are starting to lose their minds. Parts of the poem, I believe, give details of the prisoners past lives.
In Piecing Me Together by Renee Watson, Lee Lee is the only one that is trustworthy and understanding to Jade. Lee Lee is Jade’s best friend in the book, and they have known each other for ages. In the beginning of the book, when Jades mom talks to her about making new friends, Jade talks about how she wants Lee Lee around her so they can share things that no one other than them understands, and so they can laugh together at what is only funny to them. Jade has been at her new school, St. Francis, for 2 years, and still doesn't have any exceptional friends she wants to spend time with outside of school. After school, she has Lee Lee to talk to about anything she wants to spill out, and Lee Lee is always there for her.

In the novel Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger readers are introduced to a young man named Holden Caulfield who introduces himself and begins to tell his story of how and why he left his school; Pencey Prep. In the story, Holden explains how he is being kicked out of school and doesn't want his parents to know and so leaves school early. throughout the story, Holden explains what happens to him before he must go home and act like he is home from school for a break instead of being kicked out. When it comes to the topic of Author's purpose of The will of individual vs the will of the majority some will think the purpose is to show that Holden going against the will of society to rebel, however, I think the author’s purpose of The Catcher in the Rye was to show that the individual will manifest in his desire for isolation comes from his is fear and damage done by fear of pain, failure, rejection, and is unwilling or unable to go along with the majority.
