Special Interest groups play a tremendous role in our economy. Interest groups influence policies in their favor that can help them prosper. Interest groups primarily contain elites because they want to be successful in life, elites have the hunger to go beyond. An individual joins an interest group because it is their own self-interest to join. Special Interest groups attempt to always reach their objective. If you are an elite, you will do whatever possible to reach your objective even if it means doing something bizarre. An interest group becomes more effective and more powerful when they gain more members. Yet, special interest groups mainly pertain elites, the leadership and the cohesiveness of the elites is what makes the special interest group so powerful. Elites know how to manipulate the masses into doing something beneficial for the interest group. Therefore, elites can persuade the masses to join their interest groups. It’s a win—win, interest groups gain more power while, masses receive solidary incentives and material incentives. An interest group can manipulate the government by pressuring them with boycotts. For example, a shoe company increases the price of their shoes, the people can boycott and not purchase the shoes until the price goes down. In this situation, the government must act rapidly, the government can either restore the balance of the “Spheres of Influence” or let the boycott go on. At this point the interest group is manipulating the government into making a beneficial decision for the interest group and the people, because the spheres of influence need to be in balance or they collapse. The interest group gives an instant incentive if you join. Chambers of Commerce wants to help masses prosper. Masses may not have the knowledge on how the global market may be and how to operate a business. Therefore, the Chambers of Commerce fortifies the business of the masses by updating them on new arising policies that may affect their business. The Chambers of Commerce is the voice of the masses, masses are then given the opportunity to be heard. The NRA has five million members, out of those members 99% of them are masses while, 1% are elites. Therefore, the National Rifle association acts towards mass goals, the masses are the ones who benefit the most. The masses get protection over their arms and receive many benefits for having their
