Spinning Boris is a movie about Russia’s first free election and the reelection of current president Boris Yeltsin. The movie goes through intense parts where the three American consultants fear for their lives as they work to make history in Russia. The movie is based on a true story and brings to light the impact consultants can have in an election. The movie begins with the failed election campaign of Governor Wilson to be president and a few frustrated consultants. A mysterious man calls the consultants and asks if they would like to work on a campaign in Russia, although the mysterious man could not mention who the consultants were trying to get elected. After the consultants take the job it is revealed that their efforts were being utilized to get Boris Yeltsin reelected. This would be no easy task because the incumbent president was at 6% in the polls and humorously, Stalin, whom is already long dead, had higher polling numbers than Boris. The consultants spent several days sitting in their Moscow hotel, unable to leave due to the threat of being picked off by a mob, having their time wasted as the campaign dragged its feat on whether or not Boris had a chance to win the election.
