209 Words1 Pages
Subjects In this study we used one adult Sprague-Dawley rat weighing 259g. The subject was on a typical light cycle and was fed pellets and water regularly. Materials A plastic rotometer with a height of 7 in, a dimeter of 12 in, and a transparent top covering was used. On the base of the rotometer, boundaries for four equal quadrants were indicated. A cylindrical glass barrier, with a height of 12cm and a diameter of 12cm ,was placed in the middle of the rotometer to prevent movement straight across to a diagonal quadrant, ensuring that the subject could only choose movement in the clockwise or counterclockwise directions. Procedure An experimenter cleaned out the rotometer and placed the cylindrical glass barrier directly over the intersections
