National Anthems are an important part of every country’s identity, and play a major role in supporting patriotism and pride in one’s nation. These song are sung worldwide, at sports events to show pride in a team, at military assemblies to show pride and respect to a nation’s military forces. Other places these songs are played include international conventions to represent a nation, political rallies to show you wish the best for the country, etc. Mostly people listen to this music to show that they are a part of their nation and are proud of it. Generally, this music is loud and powerful, with lyrics inspiring one to be proud in the achievements of their nation.

One famous national anthem composer was Francis Scott Key, the artist behind the American Star Spangled Banner. Part of the great thing about this artist is that he was just a normal, though somewhat affluent, and an amateur poet, citizen of the U.S.A. Some of the components of its performance are firstly, vocals. This can be in the form of a choir, single singer, duet, or other. Second, the main tune can be played by any instrument, or none, but the official version arranged in 1917 uses a choir, and piano as the only instruments. This main tune is both high and low at some points. Its form is simplistic, but still artistic and thoughtful. It begins with the most well-known verse, usually sung in place of the entire song, then the tune repeats twice more, making a total of 3 times the same tune is played or sung. It is a somewhat fast song, although there are definitely slower parts, specifically at the end of the repeated melody.
