I am reading Hero by Mike Lupica and I am on page 124. The book is about Zach, whose father died in a deadly plane crash. Zach is looking to find out what he thinks happened to his father: The plane crash was not an accident. While still coping with the loss of his father, and while looking for what happened to his father, Zach meets a man, Mr. Herbert, who gives Zach superpowers. In this journal I will be predicting and questioning.

Every age, and culture has its heroes. Moana, a Walt Disney film, shows the hero “Moana,” 14 year old Polynesian girl, trying to save her dying island. The film Star Wars: A New Hope, by George Lucas, shows the hero Luke Skywalker an 18 year old trying to destroy the Death Star. Both of these stories show how the heroes have goals that they have to achieve. Literary heroes must give their readers inspirational hope through their determined perseverance and the sense of closure in the plot.
This chapter “The Ghost Soldiers”, showed us how Tim O’Brien and the other soldiers were dealing with the war both physically and psychologically. It also shows us how the Tim O'Brien behaved and felt when he was shot, wounded and had a bacteria infection on his butt and how the war changed the way he thought, and viewed the other soldiers around him. This chapter also contain a lot of psychological lens. From the way Tim O’Brien felt when he was shot and separated from his unit to a new unit to when he wanted revenge on Bobby Jorgenson for almost “killing” him.
In the novel A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J Gaines, Grant is a main character that has a lot of influence over the people in his community. Some might even consider him a hero. I believe that Grant is a hero because he helps Jefferson become a man, changes himself for the better, and wants to continue changing the community. Over the course of the novel, Grant helps Jefferson become the man that he needs to be in order to walk to his death with honor. When Grant first begrudgingly went to visit Jefferson in prison Jefferson was in a really low state.
In the beginning of Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?, Joyce Carol Oates describes fifteen year old Connie as being self absorbed and narcissistic. This is based of her belief that her looks are everything. At first connie is a very static character, her attitude does not change and she does not take interest in anything that could change her attitude towards her beliefs. As the story goes on, Connie experiences changes that do change her attitude towards her family, and beliefs. “Connie would raise her eyebrows at these familiar old complaints and look right through her mother, into a shadowy vision of herself as she was right at that moment: she knew she was pretty and that was everything.”

For starters, Ponyboys actions affected his older brother Darry in chapter 1-4. Ponyboy decides to go to the theaters by himself without anyone from his gang to company him. He finished his movie and decided to walk home even thought he could have called someone to pick him up, and a lot of Ponyboy’s decisions affect his older brother Darry. “I could have called Darry and he would have come by on his way home and picked me up, or Two-Bit Mathews--- one of our gang--- would have come to get me in his car if I had asked him, but sometimes I just don't use my head .It drives my brother Darry nuts when I do stuff like that, 'cause I'm supposed to be smart” (PDF pag.
My favorite character in the Goonies is Mikey who is alway sick in the movies. He was the want who started to look for the treasure of OneEye Willy to save their house before it turn into a golf course. He show us how smart and helpful he is on the way to find the treasure. I thought he was a good character to write about because he was the one who started the hunt for the treasure but when I was writing this I was thinking that he not my one favorite character in the Goonies . I also like Chunk the funny kid in their group.
Before considering leaderships between different leaders in Band of Brothers, it’s important to note that everybody has a different way of leading and is a good leader on their own. The three people that have shown the greatest leadership in the series, “Bands of Brothers,” are Lieutenant Winters, Lieutenant Speirs, and Sergeant Lipton. Some traits that they all have in common is that they are great leaders and are willing to sacrifice themselves to save others. Additionally, their braveness helped the struggling soldiers fight through the battle field. If the three brave soldiers were to be ranked based on their leadership, Lt. Winters would be ranked first, Sgt.
Similarly, Raphaela appreciates Ruth’s welcome to the school, as being new is difficult for her. At a school with distorted hierarchy, emotional support is crucial. So, Ruth provides Raphaela a place where she could feel comfortable. Despite her appreciation, Raphaela often compares her bravery to Ruth’s.
The video game I choose to play, analyze, and write about is a game I have about 892 hours of play time according to my Steam account and has been one of my most replayed games since my Nintendo 64 days. Fallout New Vegas is a game set in and around a post-apocalyptic 1950s retro-futuristic Las Vegas and is a game I have a lot of passion for and game time put into it. I’ve played the main character “The Courier” as a puck rocker, a hustler, a goody-two-shoes pacifist, Marty McFly from Back to the Future, to an evil Chuck Norris. Each character is almost completely different from each other but still unique in different ways to the same story line. In Kate Chopin’s “The Story of an Hour” demonstrates the personal growth of the dynamic protagonist Louise Mallard, after hearing news of her husband’s death. The third-person narrator telling the story uses deep insight into Mrs. Mallard’s thoughts and emotions as she sorts through her feelings after her sister informs her of her husband’s death. During a Character analysis of Louise Mallard, a reader will understand that the delicate Mrs. Mallard transforms her grief into excitement over her newly discovered freedom that leads to her death. As Mrs. Mallard sorts through her grief she realizes the importance of this freedom and the strength that she will be able to do it alone.
To be trapped in one's own mind may be the worst prison imaginable. In Charlotte Perkins Gilman's "The Yellow Wallpaper", the narrator of the story is constantly at battle with many different forces, such as John, her husband, the yellow wallpaper that covers the walls of her room, and ultimately herself. Throughout the story the narrator further detaches herself from her life and becomes fixated on the yellow wallpaper that surrounds her in her temporary home, slowly driving her mad. The narrator of "The Yellow Wallpaper" is a major and dynamic character as she is the main character of the story, and throughout the story her personality and ways of thinking change drastically.
Stephanie Plum, Morelli, and Ranger are three main characters in the book, One for the Money, by Janet Evanovich. Stephanie is a young woman struggling to get by in the city of Trenton, New Jersey. After losing her job, she goes against her family’s request and gets the dangerous job of a bounty hunter. She gets assigned Joe Morelli, who was accused of murder and who happened to be a childhood enemy. Stephanie is very inexperienced and receives help from a professional bounty hunter, Ranger.
