After reading the case study and conducting research on the mid 2010 recession it can be seen that this fall in the economy did in fact have a negative impact on Starbucks. This was the first time that Starbucks had to face sure an event, they have never faced it dealt with an economics down turn before, hence the biggest issue for Starbucks would be how to deal with this recession, that lead to a decrease in the total number of sales. This has never happened to them before; hence Starbucks has to confront the issue that their sales have declined and the fact that they are selling their products at a higher price compared to their competitors. People will not be willing to pay such high prices for coffee when the economy is facing difficulties.
