Many people unfairly judge and stereotype others in the Muslim culture based on the actions of certain members in their society. They begin to think that all Muslims are the same, which is not true, which is a message conveyed in A Thousand Splendid Suns. In this novel, the author, Khaled Hosseini, portrays the different Muslim lifestyles by using fictional characters in possible scenarios. Throughout the story, the contrast between the roles of women and men prove that their ways of living and their personal beliefs are not all the same.
This could be due to that fact that gods and goddesses are also shown to have two sets of standards for sexual fidelity. When Calypso was told to release Odysseus she mentioned these unfair standards, “Hard-hearted you are, you gods! You unrivaled lords of jealousy-scandalized when goddesses sleep with mortals.” (The Odyssey, Book 5, pg 317, lines 130-133) Calypso 's complaint shows that even divine beings in Greek culture have different standards for women and men.

People thought that the north star was the brightest star in the universe. When we had slavery the slaves would follow the north star which was quite noticeable, considering people thought it was the brightest. Although, people may have gotten the North Star confused with other stars, people still believed it was the brightest. People believed that the north star was the brightest star because they got it confused with the dog star, (Alpha Canis Majoris). Stars have different magnitudes, so if the north star had a magnitude of below -1 it would be brightest then a star with a magnitude of above 0.
Lines, spacing, color and shapes are the basic elements of art. I believe art is an expression of the body, mind, and soul of an individual. I also believe art shouldn 't have any boundaries, nor should have restrictions. I believe art always has something to say, but never needs to make a statement. The audience always has the right to interpret art as they see fit.
