Stars Above by Marissa Meyer is about many characters, but it’s mainly centered on Cinder and Prince Kai. She was a cyborg and lunar, a reject, living life like a maid to her adoptive family and tries to hide her cyborg self from society. He was a crowned prince learning about ruling the Earth. When it seems like fate, he stops by at her mechanic shop and asks her to fix his andriod and then brings it to the castle which then starts her fantasy of a romance without them realizing it. She believes after living many years of trying to “fit” in with society she can be who she is and believe in herself in taking down the mastermind of a queen that is seeking for power and take her rightful place. So far there isn’t something super special about the transition between events or perspective jumping around from character to character. The book sort of let me down a little bit because the other books in the series were so well written. The book is first in Michelle’s perspective including her actions and thoughts, then in Garren’s or Cinder’s adoptive parents, then Marissa Meyer writes about someone from Luna which is another planet (flashbacks or parts of the first book). Also in the text it says,“She glanced back once as she heard the house’s back door clamor shut, and then went to greet the newcomer, holding the pitchfork horizontally like a javelin.
