Comparing Two Dumb Comedies I love the movie genre that involves me to laugh and brings me happiness, so I will be comparing the film “Step Brothers” with the movie “Dumb and Dumber”. I chose these two movies because they are some of my favorite movies of all time; also the genre, comedy, is my favorite to watch. These movies interest me because they make some of funniest jokes with the funniest actors. These two actors, Will Ferrell and Jim Carrey, have been some of my favorite actors since I was a child. I could watch these movies over and over again and wouldn’t get tired of seeing it. If I was going through the tv guide I would immediately choose “Step Brothers”. At times during the movie the relationships between the main characters are not as great as they were at the beginning of the movie, but always get resolved at the end. The similarities that these two movies share is that the two main actors of the movie are not the brightest and do funny things, in character. The roles that these two actors play are very similar, as best friends/brothers. In “Dumb and Dumber”, Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) and Harry Dunne (Jeff Daniels) live together in a apartment, barely getting by in life. Lloyd is a limo driver and Harry is a mobile dog groomer. These two characters would do anything to one another out because they are best buddies. These two are always causing trouble throughout the movie. Although, in the movie, “Step Brothers”, the characters, Brennan (Will Ferrel) and Dale (John C. Reilley), start off the movie hating each other because Brennan mom marries Dales Dad.
