“Life would be tragic if it weren’t funny”-Stephen Hawkins
Born on January 8, 1942 in Oxford, England, Stephen Hawkins was raised by a family who were very accomplished. Hawkins mother completed Oxford while Hawkins dad was well-known in the medical field. Ever since Hawkins was little he was awed and amazed by the wonder of the universe. Stephens mom said, “I could see that the stars would draw him in.” Unlike his father and mother, Hawkins was not really focused on what his school taught but on what he wanted to learn himself. Even though school studies were not a main priority Hawkins went to the University of Oxford. It was here that Hawkins wanted to major in physics. But cosmology was what really drew Hawkins in. Hawkins would garble his words and stumble while walking. Hawkins was taken to a doctor where he was diagnosed with ALS. Hawkins kept on persevering through this hardship until he was finally put in a wheel chair because his body could not handle the weight. As he was in a wheel chair Hawkins speech got worse and an operation was made for his vocal cords to be removed. Even though it seemed like Hawkins would be disabled and unable to do what he loved, someone created a program for him that allowed communication. Today Hawkins can communicate successfully with the help of a sensor attached to his cheek muscle. Even though Hawkins has ALS he has still made some very impressive scientific discoveries and has written numerous books. In one of his books ‘The Grand Design’ Hawkins argued why the Big Bang is the reason for everything and that, “Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist” (biography.com). But Stephen Hawkins is most recognized for the study of black holes. Hawkins explored the real meaning of black holes discovering and proving that the black holes we see on …show more content…

As time went on over billions of years the point in space finally erupted creating everything. Hawkins made two important discoveries about Black Holes. “The first, that black holes can give off heat, opposed that nothing could escape from a black hole. The second concerned the size of black holes. As originally conceived, black holes were immense in size because they were the result of the collapse of gigantic stars. Hawking suggested the existence of millions of mini-black holes formed by the force of the original big bang explosion” (notablebiographies.com). Hawkins concluded that objects in black holes are stored like a distribution center waiting to be distributed somewhere new. Hawkins was an atheist and totally went against truth of scripture and the true creation of the world by Jesus. In another one of his “famous” discoveries, Hawkins went to prove the unified field theory which was started by Einstein. “The unified field theory explains the conditions that were present at the beginning of the universe as well as the features of the physical laws of nature” (notablebiographies.com).
