Rusty Crowder Period 2 Quarter 2 Commentary #1 The Long Walk by Stephen King Pages 1-25 (Chapter 1) The story starts off with the main character, Raymond Davis Garraty. He is a 16-year-old boy from Maine. The only one competing from Maine, where the long walk takes place, and is supported by big crowds of people.
The choices that I make will always follow me around and will never go away. We all make choices everyday and it can be on anything. I remember when I made the choice to not study for a test and as you can guess, the outcome was bad. Sometimes we don’t think before we act and that makes us chose careless and dreadful choices.
Throughout person’s life, they do a lot of things they end up regretting. People’s mistakes can sometimes end up with death. Another reason people regret their actions is because they are rash and not well thought out. People live for a very long time and they often regret much of their lives.

Klosterman Both Stephen King and Chuck Klosterman believe that many people watch horror movies for the thrill and excitement, however Klosterman uses horror movies as a metaphor while King uses horror movies as a sense of relief. Horror movies have always been such a popular genre that people watch. The horror genre is one of the top genres to watch other than comedy and romance. Many people may enjoy horror movies, while many others may not enjoy horror movies.
Spooky things exist to feed off people’s emotions. People normally view these spooky things using a set rules or scale to judge these type of monsters. This is how people are aware of the situations that they are in. In order to escape this situation, people must think about it to themselves. Due to these situations, people of our community watch horror movies in order to simulate the idea of spooky things for the future.
“All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.” (Brainy Quotes) The Odyssey by Homer is an epic poem where Odysseus faces many challenges and learns to push past them to his destination throughout the story. The Journey by Mary Oliver, is a poem about a girl listening to everyone else's opinions but her own, she learns she needs to be true to herself and stop being a follower and find her destination to discovering herself. Odysseus is challenged by an evil monster named the Cyclop. The speaker in the Journey is defying the voices in her head and, is crying for help.
Reading and Writing are Important Stephen King's "Reading to Write" (72) give details about King's methods on becoming a better writer. To become a better writer, you must read a whole heap of books. There are so many other things you can read other than books like magazines, newspapers, labels on food, and papers. As a student in college, I understand Stephen King's methods. Reading and Writing will help me further my college education, and it will help me get to my goal.
In the world that we live in today, there are many things that we face daily. Whether it be illness, love or just bad decisions, everybody encounters them and many more. Rash decisions are made on a very common basis among people. A lot of stuff affect the decisions you make. May it be, being too young and not having enough experience to make good decisions, or just the lack of care of the outcome.

"Why We Crave Horror Movies," by Stephen King explores the psychology of the human psyche and tries to explain why people are drawn to the horror subgenre. King begins to connect himself to the reader to establish a relationship of understanding the appeal of horror films. Beyond that, he uses emotional appeals as he utilizes bold, questionable statements to engross the reader.

In The Body, Gordie, the main character, and his group of friends go on a quest to find Ray Brower. Ray Brower is a young guy who was tragically killed by a train. The friends are able to find Ray’s body because Vern tells what he overheard in his brother’s conversation.
So making a bad decision is never fun. I’d like to think that most of us prefer not to make them but can’t help to sometimes because we think a bad decision isn’t that bad. It might even be a good one in the right mind set. The point of this paper being to reflect on a pass choice looking at it with the elements of critical thinking. My bad decision is one I think most are guilty of, waiting until the last minute on something important.
