A picture tells a thousand words, yet in the present time, we use a simple profile picture and simple post from social media to judge another person and to determine the type of person he or she is. For instance, a person can be quick to judge another person based on individual’s appearance, attitude, and background. Even if they do not consciously or knowingly know that they are judging someone based on these characteristics, many people do judge and begin to develop these stereotypes and misconceptions about different groups. A single person can create a stereotype by exaggerated the truth, while a misconception is not even a truth, but just a false fact. Stereotypes will always be what the group is known for in the public’s eyes, even it is not all exactly true in the end it does have a hard truth to it how the group members are in life. However, misconceptions are created by people and do not have any truth to it or any evidence to support it. Yet in a group, individual’s own characteristics become overpowered by the group’s characteristics. The group can either be known for that stereotype for a short period of time or they can be known for it for a long period of time, yet most of the time they tend to stay with the group for a whole lifetime and even afterwards. For instance, many high schoolers go through many different emotions, while going through high school, but these high schoolers use it to reveal these emotions in front of others. Their actions show whether the stereotypes and misconceptions are true or not. People's action towards others also provides evidence to whether a stereotype or misconception is real or not. However, most of these present generations have grown up in a society that is open to accepting others no matter their race, ethnicity, or sex, yet there are some that still do judge others no matter. In this way technology aids these types of people by allowing them to say whatever they want to whomever they want. It can eventually have consequences on the victim by affecting their self esteem and creating personal
