The outsiders is a novel about the Curtis brothers trying to stay together. It also parallels two rival gangs the east side greasers and the social known as the Socs. The greasers are a group of guys along with the Curtis brothers from the poor side of town and most of them have identical backgrounds. The socials are from the opposite side of town. Darry was the leader of the greasers .Darry is the oldest brother out of Sodapop and Ponyboy after his parent die.
“The Breakfast Club”, released in 1985, is a film full of up and down emotions and the development of a bond between different cliques in a highschool. The director, John Hughes, does a great job of showing the many different struggles of what it is to be a teen through different types of people. “The Breakfast Club” shows the psychological theme of identity, development, and not feeling understood by others. Five very different types of high school students are placed in the library on a Saturday for detention, they all must serve. There is John, the “criminal”, Claire, the “princess”, Andy, the “athlete”, Allison, the “basket case”, and Brian, the “brains”, each character is a different typical high school stereotype.
Characters are essential to understanding the story and are effective when they are developed to connect with the audience. To effectively depict stereotypes found in high school in episode one of the 1990s TV series, “Freaks and Geeks” media and filming techniques are used. First of all, the introduction of the episode has soundtracks to show different cliques. Specifically, as the camera pans the field and focuses on the three main groups in high school, the music changes. When the freaks are introduced, rock music plays which becomes louder as the camera distances itself from them.
The movie Get Out is about a black man named Chris that goes with his white girlfriend Rose to her parents house and things go terribly wrong. Chris is looked at with having strong arms and others thinking he’s fast and athletic although he says he’s not. He’s also thrown into a hypnotic stage and is not in control of himself. Get Out shows us stereotypes, and sunken places. First of all, in Get Out they introduces and points out stereotypes.
Stereotypes can confine people to a box and make them feel that they have limits to who they are. Assumptions can have a negative effect on people, and change how people think of themselves. Stereotypes are explored in the novel The Outsiders, by S.E Hinton. The novel touches upon ways rich and poor people are different, but also have their similarities. When examining their lives, their actions do not match up to their appearance, and they have pretty similar lives after all.

In middle school, the teachers taught about stereotypes. They gathered the whole grade in the gym and put The Breakfast Club on a projector and handed the students a packet of questions about which character fit which stereotype and other questions similar. It was important to them that their students understood that people were not their stereotypes. Of course, as middle school students often do, they latched onto a completely different point. They learned that being stereotypical is unacceptable.
CBS 's hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory is now on its 9th season and so far, its fans have seen a lot of new characters joining the show. This includes the parents of the main cast like Leonard 's (Johnny Galecki) mom, Sheldon 's (Jim Parsons) mom, Penny 's (Kelley Cuoco) dad, Amy 's (Mayim Bialik) mom, Bernadette 's (Melissa Rauch) and even Raj 's (Kunar Nayvar) parents. There is only one character whose parents have never really had the chance to have a face seen by the audience and it is none other than, Howard 's (Simon Helberg) parents. Howard 's character used to have his mom up until the 8th season, her voice was the only thing that fans have heard of. The actor playing the role felt like it is time that their fans know and see his father this time who actually has a name given by the writers and he is Sam Wolowitz.
Critiquing our Culture Stereotyping is usually defined as a predetermined, overwhelming belief about a meticulous group or category of people. In this day in time our popular culture often reinforces many different stereotypes, and at times over generalizes them. In the following, I’m going to talk about how the popular television series, American Horror Story: Freak Show, The Big Bang Theory, and Keeping up with the Kardashians infuse many different stereotypes into their shows.
A college’s main sours of revenue in tuition money which as previously stated, is four hundred percent more expensive than twenty years ago. People who are seeking the traditional path into the work force are forced to pay these crazy high prices and are enticed by a pretty residential life and the thought of new found independents. The reality of student debt have not set in yet. Student debt is at an all-time high with an average of 29,000 dollars per student. Because of the tradition of going to school and the amazing residential lives, it can be easy to recognize the severity of the situation you are putting yourself in.

The act of stereotyping is assuming that all members of a group have similar knowledge, behaviors, or beliefs simply because they belong to a group. Using stereotypes is one of the most common reasons why countless people are misjudged. It can occur with the person’s knowledge or it can happen subconsciously. Sometimes, in writing, authors will form stereotypes for their characters to fit into. By using a stereotype, it sets a base for the character to build off of and show change.
In the sitcom, Friends, we see a variety of stereotypes. Sitcoms usually aim for using strong stereotypes because they can easily create humor from them. There are three women: Monica, Rachel, and Phoebe. Each of them are characterized as just a few of the stereotypes commonly associated with women.
For example, jocks, nerds, prodigies and many more. Lindsay Goobersoly wrote an article on different types of stereotypes on college students. One of Goobersoly’s stereotypes is about a guy categorized as a nerd and says, “He walks into class wearing glasses, a button up, and some nice blue jeans that momma picked out for him.” This is an exaggerated stereotype because there’s no way a college student is being made fun of because of the way he dressed. College students do not go to school to make fun of others in the way other people dress, that is lamentable.
