The film Crash deals with racism in a rather neutral approach; instead of separating the characters into victims and offenders, victims of racism are often shown to be prejudiced themselves in different contexts and situations. Sadly, this is very common practice in modern society. Nonetheless, one of the observable themes throughout this film was the use cultural stereotypes. Such mentions include:

Such examples include that any man/woman of Arab descent is immediately associated with a foreign terrorist group. As a result of the devastating 9/11 attacks that killed thousands of Americans; it was quite a popular occurrence to associate a person of color with a terror organization. Which in fact, the owner assumes of this individual. If I were to switch places with the owner, I would not have been influenced by this horrid perception. I would have treated this man as if he was any other regular customer in my store. However, I am biased because I am of Arab descent and I know what it feels like to judged unfairly. What I will agree with is that I do sometimes associate individuals with a certain race. Figuratively if I see a dark brown skin individual I would assume this person is from India. Well, in fact, this person is actually from the Caribbean.
