From the moment a child opens their eyes, everything they come in contact with is gendered into two categories; male and female. From specific colors to clothing, certain objects are pushed for children to like based on their sex. These gender stereotypes are extremely prominent in the sporting world. In life females are typically deemed as the weaker sex, in the sporting world they are deemed as the ones who do not have the stamina and drive to compete in such rough sports, such as football or baseball. The stereotype continues on with the idea that all women want is to be a mother and that there is no place for a women to play a sport, but instead they can sit in the bleachers like all the other moms. Second of all, the womb is more oval shaped while a baseball field is more of a diamond shape, so Mrs. Green, please go back to geometry class. Third of all, how can someone compare an organ meant to carry a fragile being to a flat surface that people walk all over, when the womb is a much more strong force. In no way am I saying baseball does not have delicate features to it. What I am trying to say is that a baseball field does not look like a womb, plain and simple. I am also not saying females cannot like things that are deemed feminine because they were deemed feminine, I am saying that we should accept that females like what they like because they like it, not because society pushes it onto them. If I like a sport, it is not based on how much the field looks like a body part, but in how well the players play or how the team is doing. We as a society need to stop pushing labels on things as trivial as sports. Females need to learn that we do not have to like things for a certain reason.
