Sticks and Bones Summary
Sticks and Bones by David Rabe begins in the family's house in the fall of 1968. It starts off with the family with family viewing a slideshow of old family pictures. The begins to ring. The family gets a call that the government is sending their son David home from the Vietnam war. A sergeant brings their son David home and explain to them that he has been blinded while in battle. Once inside David does not believe he is home and is very skeptical of his family. David does not want the sergeant to leave. However, the sergeant has many more soldiers to return to their families.
While, he is home an Asian girl keeps appearing to David. Harriet heard David talking to himself and asked him about it. He said, that he was not talking to himself but rather someone he felt was their. Ozzie thought maybe a wartime buddy who died but David told him it was the Asian girl. The parents become very upset. Harriet even suggests going to church because of it, David goes to his room avoiding the church topic. However Harriet decides to ask Father Donald to come talk to David.
