This year’s StayClassy fundraising initiative was record-setting. The State Fundraising initiative was able to raise $111,211 surpassing its goal and breaking records. This was primarily due to matching grants and strong dedication from JSA student leaders. It was a grassroots effort with many individual contributions under $50. Next year, I hope to further improve the State Fundraising initiative on StayClassy and set new records.
General Woundwort also didn’t have a fun childhood. For example, Woundwort witnessed his mother and father being killed. His mother was killed by a weasel and his father was killed by a man. This would be very scaring for a young child. In addition, Woundwort was found and adopted by a kind professor with a cat that tortured him.

On April 25th, 1980 Bobby James Moore and two accomplices robbed a grocery store in Houston, Texas. During the robbery, Moore shot and killed the store clerk, a 76-year-old man named James McCarble and was consequently convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death. Moore appealed in both state and federal habeas relief courts and was granted relief by a federal court in the Fifth Circuit after arguing that precedent established in Atkins v. Virginia applied to his case. The habeas court granted relief based on the Atkins argument but the Court of Criminal Appeals of Texas, reversed the ruling stating that Moore was not intellectually disabled based on Ex Parte Briseno and a 1992 definition of intellectual disability. Following the decision to make poor people pay for the bus, there was a consensus by almost everybody that the decision was sickening and frightening. In fact, the low income elderly and disable riders of RIPTA, were backed by many activists and lobbyists, while RIPTA was all alone in its fight to advocate for the reasons why such a move was necessary. Noel, a 6-month old golden retriever, arrives on the front porch step of SICSA with a gleefully wagging tail and a heart bursting with love. Unfortunately, no room exists at SICSA for Noel, and they must turn her away to a shelter that can only do one thing: euthanize her. The argument over whether or not communities should institute no-kill shelters presents itself all over Ohio. Multiple people in Ohio believe that no-kill shelters cause financial stress on the community and prove to be a substantial hassle. However, in reality, no-kill shelters lower the overall costs of animal control with multiple methods.
Birds love the free food sitting in someone's backyard but is that the best thing for the birds? If people all over the world had a bird feeder in their backyard, birds would never run out of food. It would be protected and they could retrieve it at any time year round. A nice birdhouse would be great for a lonesome bird that cannot find shelter. During the twentieth- century, lobotomy became a popular procedure performed on patients with neurosis such as schizophrenia, bi-polar mood disorder, personality disorder, etc. Many scientists, especially at the time, argued that poking holes through parts of the brain and swishing parts around helps make patients more calm and cooperative. I predict that lobotomy had no benefits for the patient but rather in a dissociative state to appear calm.
