Discuss the theme of “The Real Thing,” The theme of the story the “The Real Thing,” is that the somethings might not seem as what whey appear on the outside as in the side. In other words sometimes the truth can hurt. The story talks about how an artist hires couple of actors who can portray the role of what english people really look like, however, the women who is least suited for the role is the one that best plays it. Which makes the artist think how unreal this english role is, and at the end the artist does pay the “actors,” but at the end no one truly knows what happen to the people if they starve or just flutter away. It is unknown sometimes like the truth. 2. Compare the characters in "The Outcasts of Poker Flat" to those in "The Real Thing." What societal influences make them superficially different? Are they really different? The story “Outcast of Poker Flat,” the characters are very different from the ones in “The Real Thing,” however, as different as they might be they do share many common traits with each other.
