The Conflict Remains
Why would an individual ever want to hear terrifying news? The world we live in today has evolved around tragic news each day. In the short stories, we can depict that the characters are overwhelmed by the news they receive and the ways they were treated during these times. The Story of an Hour, A Rose for Emily, and Yellow Wallpaper all have heartache and conflict revolving around each character. Even if it is depression or death most of us can relate to each story in our own way.
Consequently, the characters in The Story of an Hour show us the heartache they face all throughout the story. Mrs. Mallard, the wife, expresses her conflict by emotions. Mrs. Mallard was the type to have a soft, loving heart for others. When her husband, Brently Mallard, died of an unexpected train wreck she experienced grief and suffering. Conflict also appears when Mrs. Mallard comes to realization that she is free from her husband now that he has died, but states that her husband was not a problem in the marriage. The main conflict in this story is that Mrs. Mallard was the main reason why the marriage was failing and she did not want admit it.

Relating to the real world, individuals see the struggle and heartache of others, but do nothing about the situation. Conflict is used today more than we could imagine. The reason why conflict is a huge problem today is because people do not know how to handle it. If the world would take the problem, whether it is marriage, death, depression, etc. most cases of conflict would be solved. Even it is death or depression most of us can relate to each story in our own
