Strategic Family Therapy seems to me that fits the Iranian population the best based my personal knowledge of this culture. After much research I came cross how there is so little research on this community with any particular therapy that the system could benefit from. Based on the study of Malakuti, K. (2012) they examined; “the immigration experience of Iranian Jews that moved to the U.S. before, during, or after the Iranian revolution, and its relationship to anxiety and depression that is often presented in this population”. The focus on this study was to see how the Iranian Jews experienced anxiety and depression is common in this population. The result of this study was significantly high and they found a positive correlation between family environment and the symptoms. Using Strategic Family Therapy was the route that therapist took for this population when they had attended family therapy. Family environment was a significant factor in this study and using this particular therapy relates to how the social context and social situation can relate to this factor. Once they had studied the awareness of autism and realized the lack of knowledge in most of the Iranian communities was significant, taken the route to send families to therapy seemed suitable. Most families deny the fact that their kids could come across certain disorders and once they are realized that it has happen to them, they are baffled and unskilled to deal with their children. It was suggested that most families attend therapy and using Strategic Family Therapy was suggested to use in this situation. Working with the Iranian population is very difficult based on their perspective to their social world and keeping a good image to show others. Therefore therapy could be their last option, however once they realize that their social context is important to the therapist then it’s the first step they will take to become
