Question 1 on page 243 for the “Discrimination and the Interpreter for Deaf Students” case study. Think about what an interpreter’s role is. Are they supposed to paraphrase or edit/censor? If you were the person for whom the service is provided what would your expectation be?
The role of an interpreter is to do your best to translate what one person is saying and repeat in a way that the other individual is able to understand. If I was this person, I think my expectation would be to teach them that there are better ways to say things. This person is their personal one-on-one aide and they should have that moral value when working with a student in the school system. This could have been prevented.

The standards were met when it followed the school mandated curriculum. The teacher worked to recieved permission from parents to use the videos to teach the children. There action taen forth by the school board was unjustified.

The interactive process is where as collaborative activies occurr between two sides in a school system. In the case of Ekstrada, the school distirct worked to accommodate her needs until at some point it failed. However, by the district working together to make an accommodation during the plaintiffs
