Cyberbullying is bullying that happens online on social media sites. People thinks it's okay to bully other people online but no it's not okay. Cyber bullying is similar to The Crucible by people dont like when people act differently. One person starts it and then others will jump in just like how they did when they started to accuse people of being witches in salem in 1940 and 1950.
The cyberbullies should be given the right education on how to use social networking sites correctly and handle their conversation. Bullying has become a problem that doesn’t always stop at the end of a school day. Bullies turn to emails, texts and even social networking sites such as Facebook, Myspace etc. In 2008 a 13-year-old teen
Someone might argue that if people do nothing against cyberbullying then it might lead to physical violence and that shouldn’t happen. In source 3 it states “ the lack of immediate emotional feedback in cyberbullying allows aggressors to often continue the hurtful behavior unchecked.” This tells us that cyberbullying happens and often continues because they don’t have emotional feedback from being there and unlike cyberbullying people “immediately see the hurt they have caused to the target” which most people wouldn’t do. What should happen is cyberbullying prevention in schools to deter people from and warn others of the effects of cyberbullying. In source 1 it states “And bypassing the Prevention Act, we’re deterring people from engaging in cyberbullying by showing such behavior punishable by crime that won't be tolerated” although I don’t agree with the punishable by crime statement I do think that people should be warned and deterred from cyberbullying in
According to source 1, “Cyberbullying can also lead to kids getting physically injured.” This shows that cyberbullying can cause a person to hurt themselves or do things to themselves that is physically hurting them. Furthermore, this could also affect the person with their mental health causing them to stop doing activities they normally do throughout the day. After all, cyberbullying should be stopped to prevent people from getting hurt physically and mentally. Some may argue that if the statements are just simply opinions or expressions then they should not be prosecuted.
Per Reporter: The reporter witnessed a teacher (unknown) abuse a student. The child was sitting on a rug in the classroom. The teacher walks up to the child.
Due to the increase of technology, it has become increasingly easy for students to bully each other on social media or by e-mail. This new method of communication allows students to make fun and belittle others anonymously, behind a computer screen. Cyberbullying has become increasingly prominent at local schools but despite the disruptions it may cause, schools should not be allowed to limit online speech. Cyberbullying does not affect the majority of people, it is not the most terrible offense and it happens oftentimes outside of school.
2 Bellevue High Students Under Investigation for Alleged Rape of 14-year-old Girl Police in Clyde Hill are instigating two 16-year-old students form Bellevue High School for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl at a house party in Yarrow Point this April. All three teenagers attended the party together on April 1st where they reportedly consumed large quantities of alcohol before the alleged rape occurred. The girl did not realize she had been assaulted until later the next day when she noticed abdominal cramping and blood on her shoes. Her suspicion was confirmed by a rape kit performed at Harborview Medical Center and by photos of the attack that appeared on social media. Last week, Clyde Hill police searched the two boys cell phones
I will argue for speech codes on college campuses because they create more good than harm to students on college campuses. The two reasons in support of speech codes on college campuses are that hate speech is prohibitive to a learning environment and secondly that hate speech does cause harm to the person or persons being attacked. The strongest objection against speech codes on college campuses is that speech codes are illegal because they infringe upon the rights of US citizens because of the US Constitutions first amendment. My first reason for speech codes on college campuses is that hate speech is prohibitive to a learning environment. My reasoning for believing so is because the primary purpose of colleges/universities and general education is to promote learning and knowledge while individuals can broaden their mental horizons and develop their own opinions.
When this repeatedly happens cyber bullying can get very serious and taken to a whole new level. Kids have committed suicide because of cyber bullying. If anyone takes it this far and repeatedly do things to hurt another person they should be prosecuted. People all across the world get cyber bullied.
Bullying is a major issue facing today’s youth. Over the course of the past few years bullying has become such a concern that many states have adopted laws against it. However, the issue evolves as time goes on and now cyber bullying exists. Cyber bullies can insult others over the internet with no need to be nearby the person they are insulting.
Freedom of speech has always been a controversial topic. Bringing up the question of since people have freedom of speech does that give them the right to use hate speech. No, freedom of speech does not give anyone the right to use hate speech. Hate speech is used to put others down or to literally ‘hate’ on a subject or idea. Why in society should we be putting anyone down, just because we do not agree with them?
Why isn’t there enough being done about this issue? Although cyber-bullying is hurting someone without physical contact, in reality it can hurt even more than physical abuse. Behind the screens are real people with actual feelings; some have been driven to depression, some have been driven to attempting or even committing suicide. Cyberbullying is when individuals assault other individuals on the Internet through social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so forth. The vast majority of teenagers were somehow tortured, harassed or even threatened on the web.
It is no wonder why people experience these depressing feelings, because cyberbullying, as defined in Source One, is, “[Any behavior that] must be repeated, hostile, and severe with the intent to embarrass, threaten, or harass.” Cyberbullying is extremely bad for one’s physiological health. However, as presented by Kirk Sigmon, author of “Sacrificing the First Amendment to catch ‘Cyberbullies’,”“[T]he idea that hurt feeling justify criminal prosecution at all is an offensive use of the criminal justice system…” However, cyberbullying is not an issue that should be ignored; it needs to be presented to attention so that it may be stopped. Cyberbullying is hurting other people and ruining their lives, not to mention the quantity of people affected due to the availability of technology in our daily
According to Indah Setyawati,Cyberbullying is an act intended to humiliate, intimidate, spread hatred and resentment in cybermedia. Currently cyberbullying occurs especialy among the teenagers. It obviously
It might be a small thing but it can destroy someone’s life. Do you know what I’m talking about? I’m talking about cyberbullying. Statistics shows that over 80% of teens use a cell phone regularly, making it the most popular form of technology and a common medium of cyberbullying. Statistics also shows that both boys and girls are likely to be cyberbullies or the victims and it affects all races.
