Gerard Trimberger Section: AA 0742084 Scientific Research Paper RD Topic: Effects of Long Term Space Flight Introduction The effects of space flight on the human body are noticeable from the moment the clock strikes 0 and the rocket begins lift off. The immediate G-forces that impact the body are on the order of 4G. These G-forces force the blood downward from our brains towards our feet, which can cause vision impairment, which is commonly known as a "grey-out [1]." Once the astronauts have escaped the Earth's atmosphere, they no longer feel the pull of the Earth's gravitational forces.
