Have you ever wanted to chase the American dream? It might be more impossible than people realize. Gregory Mantsios writes “Class in America-2012” about the growing and obvious class divide in America, yet no one wants to talk about the situation and the effects on the people. I will be analyzing the text and explaining the effects it has on the reader. Throughout the article Mantsios stays consistent with his opinion by providing multiple charts and graphs to back his point. This essay is solely based on the effects of Mantsios’ opinions and argument on the reader and his views on the growing class divide in america. The argument is one of policy, pushing for the public to close the divide between social classes. Not only is Mantsios arguing to close the divide, but is trying to make the struggles and facts known. He presents facts and charts and breaks down each aspect of class division from myths to economic structure and earning ability. He provides multiple myths that he believes all Americans accept as true, giving him a base to explain and argue
