Asia, A 14 year old girl who went through the jail tour in douglas county, Georgia life changed tradgically after the tour. Asia was suspended from school for fighting, gang activity, and disrespectful to everyone she encounters. Not having a positive father figure in her life had many affects on her attitude but she did have a positive force in her life which was her brother Xaiver. Xaviers had recently served three years in jail and was determined to change his life for the better and become a positive role model for Asia. Xavier supported his sister through her times of need and during the jail tour. After the jail tour asia vowed to change her attitude and become a better individual. Social Disorganization theory directly links crime rates to neighborhood ecological characteristics. In other words, residential location is as significant as or more significant than the person 's individual characteristics, lower class areas have the highest crime rates. Cultural conflict, differential association, and social disorganization theories come together to explain how criminologist approach and analyze Cultural deviance theory. Cultural deviance theory has many strengths and weaknesses. The strengths of this theory is that it shows that illeagal opportunities are structured by society, it indicates why people become involved in a particular crime, and also presents ways to prevent deviant crime and behavior. A few weaknesses of the theory is that it doesn’t explain why people don’t break laws when faced with poor social environments and why deviant hate groups exists. Juviniles with lower social class are more likely to enter the penal system than middle and upper class juviniles. Deviant criminal activity that best fits this theory is gang affiliation. Most lower class juviniles do not have a positive role model to keep them on the right path and their parents
