The ingenious author Orson Scott Card creates a world where humans are not the only civilized species in the universe, but they don’t go hand in hand, as humans believe the formic species are foes, not friends. There is evidence of tension as two wars between the two races had taken place 50 years before. Now, the human race is determined to be prepared for the next strike. They have created a battle school in outer space to train and educate the young who will be the next generation to take on this burden, but they only take children who show unlimited potential. They believe they have found there next savior when Ender Wiggin is born. His brother and sister were also geniuses who may have gone to battle school. However, his brother, Peter, displayed unnecessary violence and his sister, Valentine, was too empathetic to wage war. Yet, Ender was a perfect balance, violence only came to mind when absolutely necessary. The government saw this and took him to battle school to join the international fleet at only the age of 6 years old. He goes through years worth of training in mere months and is placed in classes with kids almost double his age. Though they underestimate and take advantage of Ender, he is still expanding his knowledge by observing and learning from mistakes. When Ender is given a chance to take control, he leaves everybody dumbfounded with never seen before tactics. With his knowledge of the Formics that the fleet has taught him, he writes a heartfelt letter to Valentine that he will destroy them and save his family on
