Robert Reich starts off his article by stating the idea that income inequality is necessary for an economy to function at is fullest because people need incentive to work hard and make it to the top. Once he gets into the section about what we need to do to fix this growing problem of the wealth gap he states that there is not any one thing that we can do to fix it rather there need to be multiple things to happen to fix it. The first way Reich says we can fix the economy for a smaller wealth gap is to raise the minimum wage to about 15 dollars an hours in industries that are growing very fast like fast-food and hospitals. These industries are making large amounts of money but they are paying their workers very little. His next step is to get
In the article “Confronting Inequality” by Paul Krugman it explains how and why large changes between wages of wealth and the problems between the social classes. America's middle class in today’s society are exceeding their limits in effort to give their children opportunities many middle class parents did not have themselves. Ways that many middle class parents are doing this is by buying homes that they can't afford; this is so their children will be able to attend a good school. Another reason why middle class parent are doing this so that their children can have more opportunities to one day slow the growing gap between the wealthy and the poor. Another reason that inequality between the classes is important Krugman believes is because
Many solutions, such as social investment, early childhood education, job training for young adults are avenues for addressing the shrinking middle class. Many of these ideas have been around since the 1990s, and most know that they will work, however, no one wants to pay the cost of such social investments. Thus, this is a fine example of how one topic, income inequality, can be addressed from two different angles, that of economist and that of sociologists, and what contributes to the inequality can be supported based on what is actually measured. In this specific comparison, due to the differences in disciplines addressing the same issue, the variables measured are completely different and as a result, yield very different results.
This level of inequality has created a stacked the deck where it is nearly impossible for the nation’s poor to move up the social ladder. As a result wealth inequality is one of the top issues of 2016 presidential election
While wealth inequality has always been an issue in the United States, it has became more of a pressing matter in America since the late 1980’s, and has only continued
Income Inequality Income Inequality or “wage gap” is a big topic for freedom fighters and liberals for the simple fact that it isn’t equal for everyone. Because the wage gap is so prominent it's one of the biggest “facts” that discrimination is still apart of everyday American society. The wage gap from these radical interest groups think the economy is get a dollar take a dollar instead of a free flow economy. This misguided idea of the economy is absolutely not true and isn’t at the fault of the Government, but the people.
Lily Gregory Brian Kuzma ECON February 13th, 2018 Inequality in the United States The United States’ gap of inequality is progressively widening as years progress, making it known as the country with one of the highest unequal distributions of income. Although the U.S. economy seems to thrive given its richness in monetary value, many people within the country hold more money than others, leaving room for a huge gap in income inequality. With such high inequality of income, social mobility steadily decreases resulting in difficulty of reaching such high ranks of income. Social mobility is defined as the ability of individuals or groups to move upward or downward in status based on wealth, occupation, education, or any other social variable.
People around the world have many different political views whether they are going for the same candidate or not. Some people are pro-life, and some aren’t, some people think we need to spend more money to help close our debt, and some people think that we need to just invest it into American businesses. There are people who are Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, you name it in the USA we have it. This is the land of the free and the home of the brave and people interpret it in so many different ways. I am sure that you could find maybe three people with the exact same ideas as you from the big federal money spending problems, to immigration problems, all the way to the other problems such as equality for the LGBT group, or legalizing marijuana in all 50 states.
Income inequality is a global issue that need to be addressed and is a threat to the individuals or household with low income. In today’s world the rich are becoming rich while the poor are deteriorating and going below the poverty line. To me, imposing high income taxes would not bring an immediate solution only that, it accelerates the burden. Because the higher the tax rate, the higher the rate of poverty subjected to the low income individuals. Due to that, the government should provide quality education to the citizens so that they become self-reliant in the future and experience high living standards.
Income inequality refers to the even/unevenness of how income is distributed in society. Income inequality is most of the time measures via something called the Gini coefficient, this measures the extent of which the distribution of income among individuals/households in an economy is near to a perfectly equal distribution. For example, a rating of 0 on the Gini coefficient would

The wealth gap has had drastic changes over the past 35 years.
Income inequality is a significantly large problem within the United States. Many Americans are unaware of how unfairly money is distributed. Lots of Americans don’t even consider the income gap to be a crucial problem within the United States. There are solutions, but only if the government were able to change its economy. Income inequality is truly a massive issue needing to be recognized.
