Andre Dubus’s “Killings” travels through the emotions of a couple after their son, Frank, is murdered. It explores the dark side of the people. Matt is a warmhearted and dedicating father. He is the main character of the story. Matt always takes his role as guardian of his children and wife very seriously. He is the father of Frank. When Frank dies, Matt is devastated. Every day he feels pressure to respond to his son’s dead. The devil took over him. Matt killed Richard. Richard was the murderer of his son. Not only was Matt upset with the murder of Frank, but he was also upset with the fact that the killer was granted a bail. Matt was dying of pain. He is very close and devoted to his wife.
