Summary of “Prison Studies” by Malcolm X In Malcolm x’s “Prison Studies” he talks about how prison made a greater impact on him then college would have. This is expressed when Malcolm X states that Bimbi made him feel jealous of the amount of knowledge Bimbi possessed. Bimbi always steered the conversation and Malcolm X tried to mimic him. Therefore, Malcolm X asked the guards for a dictionary and for the items to improve his writing. The way Malcolm X thought to improve both his writing and knowledge was coping. In the beginning of his endeavors, he slowly and carefully copied every character onto his tablet.
