When Max was a boy, his dad had gone to put him asleep and told him “shhhh.” Killer Kane killed Max’s mom by strangling her to death. Max claimed he didn’t see his dad kill his mom, but he did. Killer Kane then got arrested and sentenced to 30 years in prison; Max went to trial for the dead of his mother, but he never spoke at the trial and went to live with his grandma and grandpa. Max and his grandma and grandpa had learned that Freak and his mom were moving in next door to him.
