In the article “FREEWRITING”, the author, Peter Elbow, explores the concept of freewriting. Elbow defines freewriting as, when you write nonstop for ten or more minutes without looking back at what you have written, ignoring punctuations, grammar mistakes, and “sounding right”. Elbow explains that freewriting helps you utilize your individual voice when writing. Freewriting helps your voice by creating a straight/fast path from conscious thought to writing on paper. Freewriting voids the simultaneous editing processes (grammar, spelling, and political correctness) that most people go through when writing, which then makes the written text dull/bland and equally makes writing harder.
