Women have always been put in an uneven playing field when it comes to gender roles. We have been born into a world full of stereotypes. The men they go out and make money while the women stay at home. The men are the strong ones who do the hard labor. The men are the ones who have be tough while the women are the emotional ones. It is the new born boys wear the color blue while the new born girls wear pink. A quote from a article by Lahle Wolfe perfectly summarizes how gender roles are played in the early years of many children, “In middle and high school, girls are more likely than boys to be discouraged from participating in sports, and clubs like debate, math, and science. But girls are more likely to be encouraged to participate in after school volunteer work, social programs, and more passive activities.”Gender lines are drawn early, and exclusions for women continue throughout adulthood. These constant messages may lead to a false belief that women do not belong in the high-powered corporate world. This gender discrimination is something that no one can escape. We are born into this imprudent, improper, and immoral society, that has not, will not, and chooses not to change for the better for women and children
